Good to be true!

I'm surprised by the negative reviews noted in 2015 because my experience was so wonderful. I understand how the sales and admin sides can be subpar, I'm used to this in NYC; poor communication, etc. But in the case of FlatRate, the actual muscle, smarts, and good will of the team eclipsed any bumps in the road along the way. We had sensitive materials over a 100 years old and they never made me feel as if I was being too sensitive or overly concerned. In fact, their bedside manner was superlative. Aiby and his team made what is typically a draining and stressful experience to be full of humor and professionalism. I think the sales team likely undercut the true value of this job to close the deal at a significant disservice to the team who did the actual move -- two moves -- home + storage facility from NYC to NJ. From 9am to 10pm at night until everything was in the correctly labeled room. High-fives all around. Be tolerant with the office -- and the movers will knock it out for you. We did across the country with Flatrate, too. Not a hitch.

Exceptional

All facets of the move with FlatRate were exceptional. From working with Ming in the office getting the inventory list correct and helping clarify any aspect that I was unclear about it was a truly outstanding experience. The day of the move 11/13/15 the two guys were polite, friendly and very professional I felt they went above and beyond with care of my items. Packing up was fast and efficient and I met them at the new location where they brought everything in and unpacked very quickly and carefully. This was a move in Manhattan that from pack down to final set up took only about 2.5 hours total which I was expecting to take a lot longer. Thank you very much FlatRate moving, I'm in my new apartment and would recommend this company with the highest regards.

Best movers!

From the very beginning, Stephen was patient with me to create my moving list and estimate. I even changed my inventory a few times, which was never a problem. Despite any changes, his quotes were always better than any other competitors. Then came moving day, which was even a better experience. My movers actually came early. My movers ELVIS and GABRIEL were amazing, who from the very beginning were personable, diligent, and amazingly fast. Nothing was broken and everything arrived at my new designation. Even at the end of the day, my mother shared how impressed she was. (This compliment is equivalent to seeing a unicorn.) This is my fourth move in NYC and the best. I will never use another mover.

Cleveland - Your Cross Country Move Made Easy

Contrary to what people think, Cleveland isn’t the same as other Midwest cities. There are tons of sporting events, concerts, museums, nightclubs, shopping venues, restaurants, parks, outdoor spaces, etc. It might not be as good as cities like New York, Chicago, Philly or Boston, but it’s not bad. As of 2015, Forest City has twenty-two sister cities. Here you can drink craft beer, eat the best food, visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, enjoy the nice weather, and see great shows in Playhouse Square . Read on to find out about all the reasons why you should move to Cleveland.

The Food Scene

Cleveland is a melting pot of immigrant groups and their various culinary traditions have long played an important role in defining the local cuisine. In recent years, the city has become popular in the world of celebrity food culture. Famous locals, chef Michael Symon and food writer Michael Ruhlman, have received international attention for their contributions in the culinary world. Symon was named "The Next Iron Chef" on the Food Network, while Ruhlman collaborated with famous Anthony Bourdain. Chicago Tribune proclaimed Cleveland to be America's "hot new dining city", in early 2008. Awards such as “best steakhouse”, “best farm-to-table programs”, “best new restaurant” and “great new neighborhood eateries” were awarded to several towns’ restaurants. The variety of dishes and flavors to please everyone’s taste is a result of all the newcomers from Europe and Latin America bringing in their cultures and cuisines. They introduced the residents to kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, and famous corned beef. If you want to try the best corned beef sandwich in America, head to Slyman’s, near East Side. Another Cleveland specialty is the Polish Boy sandwich. It tastes better than it looks.

Every year, almost 100,000 people attend the Feast of Assumption Festival. The celebration takes place in a part of the city known as Little Italy and the four-day centerpiece is pizza. True Sport Lovers

If you want to get to know the most devoted fan base in the world who never give up on their team, this is the city for you. Although since 1964, none of the favorite Indians (baseball), Browns (football) and Cavaliers (basketball) teams brought the championship trophy, you’ll never succeed in convincing a Clevelander to stop believing in them. The fans persistently come to all the games, cheering for victory. Maybe the next match will be historical, who knows? The last hope for Cavaliers is the return of James LeBron, the legendary basketball player. They even forgave him for leaving the team a few years back. People understand why he left and know that having him back will be what’s best for the city. Now they have a bigger chance at winning. To read LeBron’s full biography, click here.

The Classiest Place

The Playhouse Square is the second largest theater complex in the country. With more than 1,000,000 visitors attending over a thousand performances per year, Cleveland has one of the best shows around. The theater has hosted many famous artists and endured a turbulent history for almost 100 years. To see their current program, click here.
Yet another event that makes nightlife in Cleveland interesting is all about fashion. The best vogue experts and the most beautifully dressed people in the country must be present at Fashion Week Cleveland. It is the third largest fashion show in America. If you are interested in attending the 2017 Fashion Week Cleveland, click here.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is located on the shore of Lake Erie in downtown Cleveland. Numerous huge stars like Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and the James Gang grew up in this city. If you like their music, this is a good reason to schedule a moving day.
In addition to this, several popular movies were shot here: Spider-Man 3, The Avengers, Bad Grandpa, Miss Meadows and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Are You Cold?

Cleveland has four distinct seasons: rainy springs, warm and humid summers, beautiful crisp autumns and cold snowy winters. The only extreme weather in Cleveland is during winter and the worst of the snow and cold is usually concentrated in the months of January, February, and March. Winter coats and scarves come out in November and stick around until the end of April. All around the country, everyone complains about how their weather is the worst, but only Cleveland residents know what a real cold is. Whether you call it the lake effect or snowmaggedon, the winter months are sure to bring immense amounts of fluffy snow and bitter coldness. The all-time record low of −20 °F (−29 °C) was set on January, 1994. To learn more about Cleveland’s weather, click here. The cold, however, doesn’t discourage outdoor enthusiasts from hijacking most of the golf course fairways.
Another thing that helps beat the cold Cleveland weather is homemade beer. This is one of the best places for craft beer in the country. With so many good beers, it’s no surprise that Cleveland ranks 11th on Business Insider’s Most Hungover Cities list. It has 18.2 percent of legal drinkers!

St. Patrick’s Day

Every Clevelander bleeds a little bit green when it comes to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. With over 15,000 people marching in a parade that attracts over 500,000 spectators, it is one of the best celebrations in the country. People enjoy great party and delicious Irish food.
